Yesterday we took Joop’s parents to Salt Spring Island. It was a misty morning and even more so on the water. The ferry went slow, as you couldn’t see far over the water. It was hard to see where the water ended and the mist began. Boats and islands appeared and disappeared in the mist. It was pretty magical.
During the day the mist slowly dissipated, revealing a clear blue sky. Cardigans and jackets were taken off while we wandered over the Saturday market. Windows were rolled down while we drove to the top of the island and back. The ferry ride back was a completely different experience.
Tomorrow we go on a week-long road trip up island and to the mainland to visit Whistler. I’m looking forward to seeing that place again. I hope everybody can find some time to enjoy these beautiful September weeks!
